It's not easy being green. Kermit was right!
The Carpenter's Cabin is the first sustainable, green, eco-friendly designed vacation rental in Hocking Hills Ohio - possibly Ohio. It's not a gimmick. This is a vacation getaway for our family, that we happen to be sharing with others as well, and it was important to us to be good stewards of what God has provided. We want our grandchildren to not only enjoy the property as an escape for years to come, but we want it to be an environment that is healthy for them and for the environment.
We want to show that creating a luxury home with sustainable and non-toxic products IS possible, even while working within a budget. I'm not going to lie, sourcing these products has taken considerable time and research. The good news is that more companies are understanding the need for these changes and developing amazing products.
As an interior designer, I regularly spec Sherwin-Williams® products and was thrilled when I learned they would be partnering with us by supplying their Harmony® Wall Primer and SuperPaint® with Air Purifying Technology®!
Look for a warm white custom tint on the ceilings and walls, SW 9168 Elephant Ear on the trim, and a couple of surprise colors throughout.
